Ramnath temple is situated 7 kms from Ponda in Goa the temple is dedicated to Ramnath, the incarnation of Lord Shiva to whom Lord Rama prayed before crossing the Ocean to Sri Lanka to bring back his wife, Sita. The idol of shri Ramnath was initially installed in Loutolin ( Lotti), Goa by Guad Saras Brahmins who were migrated from Rameshwar in the southern shores of India.

Later the idol was shifted to Bandivade (Bandora) to avoid ill-behaviour by the Portuguese regime in the 16th century. In 2011, the temple complete its 450 year at Bandora. The beautiful temple is embellished with the portrait of Garuda and Hanuman in their original position in the archway. Apart from that the painting of Lord Rama, his wife Sita, brother Lakshmana along with Rama’s devotee Hanuman is knee led in the temple along with the Dvarapalas - the guardians. the lower panel of the temple is places with the elephants carrying garland in his trunk. The temple if further adorned with the idols of the goddess Santeri from Rivona and the goddess Kamakshi from Loutolim.

Every Monday Palkhi of Shri Ramnath is carried out for the occasional celebration in Bandora. Also, the annual Jatra of Ramnath is held during Navratri and Shivratri. 

Mahashivratri is one of the major festivals celebrated at Ramnath Temple in a very grand manner for 6 days in the month of February/March. The festival begins on the day of Magh Vadhya Dwadashi(Magha Shukla Dwadasi) and concludes on the day of Falgun Suddha Dwitiya(Phalguna Suddha Vidiya). Apart from that, there is one more festival known as Navaratri Utsava Mahotsavam celebrated in the months of September/ October at Ramnath temple over the period of 10 days. It begins on Aswayuja Suddha Padyami and ends on Aswayuja Suddha Ekadasi.
